Spring Forward

I have a love/hate relationship with Daylight Savings Time.  While I love more daylight in the evenings, I hate getting up in the dark. *sigh*  And honestly, I don't know how many more 'spring forwards' my body can handle!  It seems I have been sluggish all day just from losing an hour's sleep.  I really don't know how I survived working as an EMT *laugh*!  Because there were MANY sleepless 24 hour shifts... I guess I was a walking zombie then!

I do like Spring though!  So, if Daylight Savings is a sign of spring then bring it on!  I'll deal with being sluggish!

Country Boy and I went to visit my folks yesterday and as usual, the guys played golf and the gals went shopping *smile*!  Maybe I should explain why we go shopping everytime I'm there, well, one can only do so much shopping at the Super WalMart, which is all we have in my neck of the country!  I was able to purchase a retractable clothesline (boy, they're hard to find these days!) and a clothesbasket.  Maybe the next time I hang the laundry out to dry, it will be much easier!  I also purchased a butterfly plant, which I can't remember the name offhand but it has purple flowers, to put in the corner of my bird-watching patio and I broke down and bought a monopod for my camera.  It's a RocketFish 70" Carbon Fiber Monopod with locking pan head and a carrying case.  I was very excited about that purchase and couldn't wait to test it out!

The gals went to Sholom Park, a local park in my parent's neighborhood after our shopping trip and I was able to figure out and test my new monopod.  Here are some of the photos I took...

This is a Great Blue Heron.

It's a lovely park; a nice place to sit, relax, read a book, meditate, people watch or walk around.  It was such a beautiful day yesterday that many people were there enjoying the outdoors and the scenery!

Overall, I am really pleased with my monopod and am happy that I broke down and bought it!

My friends, I hope you had a nice weekend and didn't suffer from 'springing forward' like I did!

Till next time,
