I spent the better part of the afternoon dealing with computer issues *sigh*. I have a laptop that I absolutely love! It has lots of memory and it's fast... even though I have hundreds upon hundreds of photos loaded on here, it is still very fast. (Yes, I know, I need to get an external hard drive... someday!) When we bought this computer we bought it with graphics and photos in mind which takes up quite a bit of space.
This morning, I tried a new game on Facebook that is a lot of fun, Gardens of Time, but you can only play so long and then you need more gold! I saw an ad for obtaining more gold so I clicked on it. Wrong move! I spent the next half hour trying to get out of that ad. I finally managed and all seemed OK so I went about my chores. This afternoon, though, it started acting like a computer from the dark ages... taking forever to boot up or open up an application. Now, I don't know a whole lot about computers but I know when something's not right. And I know enough to probably just get me into trouble but, I managed to download a MalWare program (since mine didn't catch it) and it found the culprit. Mind you, this took HOURS to do because my computer was running that slow. *another sigh* It is running fine this evening so hopefully, all is well.
Moral of the story, don't click on anything unless you're 100% sure of the website!
Happy Saturday!
Till next time,

Ouch! I hate to learn lessons that way. I just clicked on a "get widgets" button and looked at adding widgets to my blog, but when it came down to actually pressing the button I chickened out. Then I read your post - glad I didn't click that button! :) Thanks for the reminder!
oh dear. hope it's all repaired. i keep norton security on my laptop to try to stop all those fiends...
I've been there and done that! Not fun at all. :(
Sounds like you got it all cleared up. I stopped playing Facebook games last year, I did love me some Farmville, though. haha!
Glad your computer is back up and running!
It chills me to the bone to think of getting one of those viruses that delete all your files and pictures. I recently signed up with that company, Carbonite, that backs up all my files on their data base. For 60 bucks a year, I sleep better at night. Glad your system is all good again.
Oh my, yes, indeed, I saw that very game on fb. Mind you, I don't play any games or use apps on fb... but that one looked tempting to me! It's scary how the simplest thing can wreak havoc with our pc's. It's just not fair! (said in my whiniest voice.. lol!). I've spent a lot of time working on our pc over the last two months. Guess what seemed to fix it? Just a good canned air "blow-out" inside! Dust can be deadly! And we have a-plenty here! :D -Tammy p.s. highly recommend the external HD.. they're not so expensive these days. I need a 2nd one now - those pics... (sigh)
Oh, that sucks! I don't really do FB any more. I used to be heavy into Superpoke Pets at one time, can you believe it? It got to be addictive. At least I'm learning something from blogging. :)
Oh dear... that was a scary mess to have to fight your way out of. Congratulation on finding a solution. You have lovely photos on this blog!
