Yesterday morning, fairly early, I was meandering around the yard in search of some flowers that were blooming because I was going to link up to Your Sunday Best at A Rural Journal. Nancy had posed the question of what was blooming in our area? Well, since Spring came early in my neck of the country the blooms were getting fairly sparse. I wandered around taking photos of my geraniums, yellow Lantana, some purple/bluish flower that a neighbor gave me (I don't know the name of it) but didn't like any of them. I was getting desperate so I starting photographing the ever-present Stinging Nettles. I said I was desperate! I was heading to the house when I saw something dark out of the corner of my eye sticking out of the ground. When I turned to see what it was, I couldn't believe it! A lily! (I don't know the specific name of this one.) I went over, sat on the ground and starting taking pictures. LOTS of pictures! I was so excited to see this flower in my yard! Here is the picture I posted yesterday...
You can see here that it hasn't fully opened up. I went back outside during early evening and this is how it looked....
It was so pretty! Once again, I sat myself in the dirt and started taking pictures. LOTS of pictures! Here are a few of them...
I really enjoyed photographing this beauty! Of course, I couldn't have done it without my Precious assistant...

She 'assisted' both morning and evening!
Hmmm, do ya' think she's bored?
I think I wore her out! I'm pretty sure she's saying "This photography stuff is exhausting!"
When I went outside this morning to put more seed in the bird feeders, the lily was wilted and just about gone. It's so sad that this lovely flower didn't last longer. I was so thankful that I saw this beauty out of the corner of my eye yesterday morning. Thank you Nancy for asking what was blooming in our area otherwise I might have missed it!
Till next time,

These are beautiful shots. I love your blog! I'm sorry it took me long to get here after you stopped by my place. I really like the way you sign your posts and your pictures. Love those little flowers on the "y". I have often thought that I should sign my pictures but have just never gotten to it. Anyway, beautiful place. I'll be back!
I just LOVE daylilies! Such a beautiful color!!
Thanks for stopping by! xxx
Very photogenic flower. :-) We have a lily farm of sorts not far from us. It is a great place to visit. It should be opening soon, actually, so thanks for the reminder!
