There are several meetings at the water cooler throughout the day...
Isn't that too cute? Let's get a closer look...
ADORABLE!
Fuzzy butts! |
And, of course, there's lots of eating going on...
Sometimes they fall asleep while they're eating...
Here's a photo with my hand to let you see how tiny they are...
And then, there are the posers...
So cute!
I believe this one is our rare, exotic chick...
I can't wait to see what she ends up being!
Along with all the eating and water cooler chats comes a mess. I'll spare you those details but I removed the icky hay where they were huddled under the light and gave them some new hay. Thankfully, the allergies didn't start up! Country Boy also added a second light so they could spread out and have a larger area of warmth to huddle up under. The second light also eases my mind in case one goes out in the middle of the night. It's been in the low 50's here at night... a little too cold for these furry young'uns to be without a heat source!
In six months, I'll have beautiful brown and green eggs. Mmmm, tasty! If you've never had farm fresh eggs I would encourage you to find some and try them. You'll never want to go back to store bought eggs again!
I hope you have fantastic Friday and a great weekend!

such cute fuzzy little messes!
oh how cute!!
Who wouldn't love these little fuzzy babies! So cute!
They are lovely but yes, quite messy. We had chickens on our farm when I was growing up. I have always preferred brown eggs out of the coop.
Your babies are darling!!!
Well, if both lights go out, guess who's gonna have to squat and play momma hen? :)
Awe.... just precious! Our little flock has grown so fast and are laying a few eggs, but that will slow down as the days shorten. You will enjoy those eggs and your hens!
They are such great company!
thanks for sharing with the farmgirls!

Love your little fuzzy babies. I've always had a weakness for baby chicks. Getting my farm fresh eggs tomorrow from market; you're right ~ nothing better.
I'd love to have chickens...until that day may come I'll certainly enjoy watching yours.
They are just too cute!!
Brown eggs for me come by way of the local market - thanks for sharing!!!
Oh my......they are so cute!
I've written 3 other times & it won't go. Don't know why. I loved your video/audio. Makes you think you're right there with them. Any housework getting done :)
Just listened to your video/audio again & realized how in 1 day they are roaming around more. Adorable & so active for being only a few days old.
Yay!! Babies!!! Can't wait to come out and meet the little peepers - so cute! :)
They are so cute and fluffy. Pleased all is going well.
Oh my, they're too cute for words! Enjoy!
The sleeping-while-eating photo killed me..they can't be any more adorable.
Precious little messes :)
In answer to your question about camera settings...focal length 300 mm, aperture priority mode, f 5.6, ss 1/250and ISO 140. I confess, I often use aperture priority mode for wildlife. I don't want to miss a shot because of adjusting my settings, and this seems to work well for me.
They really are adorable little things, aren't they? Maybe I"ll have to order a few more next spring.
They are the sweetest little things! I'd love to see more video clips :)
They are so sweet and your photos are fabulous! I bet the eggs will be really pretty to photography too.
Really enjoy your blog - especially the little chicks!!
