I've recently had a couple of opportunities to do some traveling. Earlier in the year I spent some time in my home state of New York and I just returned from a trip out West.
The differences in terrain among all the various states I've visited is amazing and all so different from my current state of Florida.
There are going to be lots of photos in this post and few words so grab a drink and a snack and check out some of my favorites...

The first Robin I've ever seen!

Country Boy and I were getting a few items from a local store when we saw this geyser going off. We raced the couple of blocks to get there before it stopped.

Apparently, this geyser was discovered on November 30, 1937 in an attempt to find a hot water source for a swimming pool. The drill went down 315 feet and unleashed the geyser. The extreme pressure is caused by carbon dioxide gas mixing with water in an underground chamber. It is now capped and controlled by a timer. It erupts every hour on the hour and reaches heights of 100 feet year round.
From afar, this Florida girl thought this was sand! It's definitely not sand. It's very hard and is a buildup of mineral deposits from the geyser.
The holes in the 'sand' were gurgling even after the eruption.

Thankfully, there was no blowing snow but there was LOTS of wind. Gusts of 55+mph!

In a nutshell, those were some of the landscapes that we saw during our trip. All so different, unique and some just downright gorgeous!

Fantastic amazing photos ! Robins are my favorite bird I love the way they sing and chit chat in the early mornings and evenings ! We have tons of them here now as it is practically summer weather here ! I think we by passed spring and went straight into summer temps !
Wow! That's all I can say! What amazing terrains you have seen. My dream is to drive west in the USA, and see some of these sights for myself. ABsolutely stunning....
Stunning as the mountains are, these prairies do something for me, I have to be honest.

LOVED the photo journey I just got to share with you. And, since I am a California girl who only lives in Maine during the summer, the frost on the windowpanes is breathtaking. LOVE them.
