I really need to go through the rest of the 800 photos that I took while visiting CountryBoy out west so that I can share them with you.
But for now, here are a few photos of Searchlight, Nevada.
This town is a few miles from where we'll be staying.
Not only was the landscape so different than what we are used to but the skies were so blue.
It was a perfect day for taking pictures and I have a lot more to show you including an old, abandoned gold & silver mine. But again, I need to make time to finish going through all my photos.
Speaking of time, it's just a little over two weeks until we'll be pulling out and heading west. Yikes! Am I ready? N-O!!! I'm not even ready for Christmas which is a little over two weeks as well.
Part of the problem is, a lot of the stuff we want to take will need to be packed last minute so, I've made a list of all those items so that (hopefully) we won't forget anything.
I had the oil changed in the Jeep last Friday and will take it to our mechanic Monday morning to give it a once-over to make sure it's trip-ready.
The upcoming week is a busy week not only with trip preparations but with Christmas celebrations and parties and ending with our Christmas Cantata the following Sunday evening. I mentioned the cantata because if I was only singing in it that would be one thing but since I'm directing it this year it adds a bit of stress to the event seeing as this is my first time directing. I know the Lord will bless it because everyone involved has worked so hard but, I'm still going to stress just a bit about it because I'm human!
Also this week, I'm going to try to get a few Christmas cards in the mail and concentrate on finishing up the handmade gifts for the family.
We'll see how it goes!
How's your week shaping up as we get closer to celebrating the birth of the Christ child?
Till next time,
