Evenings & A Gentle Reminder

What do you like to do in the evenings?

Do you read?  Watch TV?  Get your craft on?  Play video games?  Catch up with the family on the day's events?

Do you have a routine? or does it vary?

CountryBoy and me?

Well, our evenings are rather short.  About two hours, in fact, from the time CountryBoy gets home from work until the time we usually go to bed.  (Four in the morning comes awfully quick!)

We catch up on the day's events during supper and after the dishes are washed I usually sit on the couch while CountryBoy sits in the recliner and watches cartoons on Netflix or 'shoots something' (meaning he plays video games) and I knit frilly scarves or work on whatever crochet project I have going on at the time. Some evenings, weather permitting, we'll sit outside and soak up the outdoors.  (If we were allowed to have a fire pit we would be out there every evening!)

Just before we go to bed we walk LizzieBelle.

Sometimes, we are blessed with this beautiful sight while we're walking her...

Such beauty and the fact that the sun will set each evening and rise each morning is a gentle reminder to me that God is still in control even through all the craziness of this world and that He has a plan for all this craziness.  For that, I am truly grateful!

How do you like to spend your evenings?

Till next time,

Thank you for this gentle reminder.. so true! And we must take the time to remember that. Our evenings? What I like to do is sit and watch a movie with hubby. I'd rather sit outside when it's nice, but I am out-voted on that. Maybe we could move his recliner outside? lol! I absolutely love that photo.. such a gorgeous gift! Hope you two have a blessed weekend. -Tammy

Your evenings, though short, sound wonderful to me. And that sunset is stunning! Hubby and I have been watching the Food Network channel lately. If nothing is on tv I catch up on reading or blogging.

Fantastic photo ! When Papa gets home from work at around 4:30 pm if it is nice out we sit on the porch patio for a bit and chat or play with Miggs in the yard ,if it is not nice we come in and he plays his game on his PC till supper . After supper he some times works in his wood shop if it is nice out and I am out enjoying whats left of the day on the porch swing reading ! If the weather is nice we are out in it if not then we are in puttering , every evening at 8pm is our cup of tea time either on the porch if it is nice or where ever we are stationed at the time if it is not nice out ! Just two old simple country dwellers that's Papa and I ! Have a good day !

That is a soul stirring sunset photo and it sounds like you have a nice evening routine. We usually watch some tv shows, often British, and then read and I end and start each day with a prayer.

Yes, we tend to clear up after tea and sit in front of the TV. I do knit or crochet though. I suppose that now the evenings are lighter and, if this weather ever turns dry and sunny, I will do more outside. Maybe even short walks. Love that picture....it's incredible!! Joan

I go to bed early too since I get up at 3:30. I try to squeeze as much as I can into my evenings puttering around in the garden or working on a project. Always something to do and never enough evening. Well, bed time is calling - I hate to go to bed before the sun, but morning comes all too quickly and then I regret it if I don't.
