The Bees They Are A Buzzing

We've had a couple of cool mornings here so I've had the camper opened up to bring in the fresh air (and to save on electricity and wear and tear of our AC unit as it has to work very hard in the afternoons when the temps are in the triple digits).

One morning, shortly after the sun came up, I started hearing a loud buzzing noise outside.  I glanced outside and the bushes beside the camper were alive with bees swarming the flowers.

There are four bees in the above shot.  Can you find them all?  These bushes are quite large so you can imagine the number of bees buzzing around.

These bushes are also located right where I need to get in order to open or close the holding tanks.  This particular day I was doing laundry and I needed to close the gray water tank (bathroom sink and laundry) in order to fill the tank up with soapy laundry water.

Bees actually fascinate me so I wasn't the least bit nervous about brushing up against these buzzing bushes.  A few of them flew around me to check me out but, thankfully, even though I was face to face with them they didn't bother me while I closed the tank.

There are so few flowers here in the Mohave Desert that I was very happy to see the bees taking advantage of the one to two days that these bushes were in full bloom.

Incoming...

I can't wait until the day that I can have a beehive or two!  CountryBoy and I love raw honey but have you seen the price of raw honey?  Mercy!  It will be nice to tend to, extract and eat honey from our own bees one day.

Once the laundry was finished I went back outside, crawled around the bushes and once again got face to face with the buzzing bees in order to now open the black water tank (and yes, it's just what you think it is!). When that was finished dumping I closed that tank and opened the gray water tank to flush the tube with nice soapy water.  Ah, the glamour of living in a camper!

Bee happy!  After all, it's FRIDAY!

Till next time,

Neat pics! It's amazing how the bees find the flowers, no matter how few:@)

I like most bees as they are mellow, unless they are those killer bees. Wasps are quite nasty though!

What lovely flowers! I can understand the bees liking them! I loved the action shot of coming in to land! Well done! Joan

I love raw honey. I've recently taken a liking to it in my coffee! But yet, the prices....oh my.

Great shots! This season seems to be filled with bees. They are buzzing in my backyard, too. I have to say they scare me a bit. You were brave to get these close ups.

I've learned from photographing these guys that they're more interested in the nectar than humans. But I guess having to disturb them would be taking a chance. Nice photos and I did find all four in the first shot!
