Grab Your Camera Babe, Hurry

The other day Country Boy was on the phone with his brother when he hollers "grab your camera Babe.  Hurry!"  So I grabbed my camera and headed towards his voice.  He was on the front porch pointing to the deserted flower garden where my pond is.  A large Red Shouldered Hawk was sitting on the rocks at the edge of the pond.  He had just come out of the pond after having taken a dip...

Of course, I had the wrong lens on the camera but I was happy I got this shot since he flew off shortly after this.

November 2 already.  Could someone please tell me where this year has gone? and what have I accomplished?  In eleven days, I will have been 'retired' from my EMT job for a year.  ONE year already.  Unbelievable!  I still have so many projects that I've been wanting to get done.  I guess I should stop coming up with projects but that's not how my mind works!  It's a snowball effect *laugh*...

In fact, just last night, I got up to use the privy in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep.  My mind was wandering all over the place thinking about our future hobby farm and what should be the first steps towards achieving that goal.  I was also pondering ways to become more self-sufficient here at the homestead.  So, after tossing and turning for thirty minutes or more, I got up and did some research on the computer.  After about an hour, I was ready to go back to bed.  I slept like a baby until Country Boy's alarm went off.  *sigh*  Time to get up and start my day....

There is lots on today's agenda... yep, some of my infamous projects!  Wish me luck in getting some of them crossed off my mental list!  Woot!

Till next time,

You sound just like me. First off I never have the right lens when Papa yells for me to get a photo of something he sees lol second your right where the heck did the time go November already? and third my mind is always active at night thinking of things lol. Hope you get your list done and if not well theres always another day. I have been retired for 2 years now. I was raised on a hobby farm I miss it and now Papa and I are setting to have one by the time her retires. Have a wonderful day.

Beautiful bird!

Things like $ and self-sufficiency can keep me awake at night too. Sigh indeed.

Love the picture of the hawk. Have you seen my son's new hawk in falconry? She's so pretty and sweet too.
And yes, like you sometimes I wake at night and wonder what's next. God knows though. In His time, you will be on a hobby farm.

Great capture! Time does fly by way too fast, doesn't it?

I love that your man calls you, "babe".
I am with you on being self sufficient. And even though it takes time and money....doesn't it feel glorious to be in charge of our life?

You got a lucky shot there! Good for you!

I tend to get up and write things down when I can't shut my brain off. That way I can go back to sleep. Every once in a while I'll go on the computer in the night but thankfully it's not to often. That alarm does go off early, doesn't it!
