Next Stops... Family Homes & Irondequoit Bay

My awesome tour guide extraordinaire (also known as my big brother!) took me to see the two houses I lived in for the short time I lived in New York.  My first home was a duplex in the heart of Rochester.

We lived in the one on the right.

My second home was in the town of Webster.

I'm told that the house did not look quite like this when I lived there.  Siding has been added and a different roof has been put on.

I don't remember either of these houses as I lived in New York for only a short time before we moved to Florida.

Bordering the town of Webster is Irondequoit Bay.  The bay is fed from Irondequoit Creek and flows to Lake Ontario.

It was another cold and windy day but there were too many photo ops too pass up!  I hope you enjoy a glimpse at Irondequoit Bay...

A view of the Bay...

It amazes me how ducks are able to tolerate cold water and weather!

A view of the outlet that empties into Lake Ontario...

Standing on the bridge looking back at the Bay...

The swing bridge is closed to vehicular traffic during the summer months and is left open to allow boat passage through the outlet.  The residents of Irondequoit and Webster have to take an alternate route home during these months.

This end of the pier was covered in several inches of ice.  I treaded lightly and managed to stay upright!

You can see the force of the wind coming off the lake by the way these icicles are hanging.

Irondequoit is such a beautiful place and I was glad I had the opportunity to see it!

Till next time,

Fantastic photos ! We live a 6 min drive from Lake Erie in Ontario . It is the roughest lake but it is beautiful ! There is a small fishing town we like to go to there , its called Port Burwell . Papa and I also love photograghing lakes and small shore line towns ! Have a wonderful day !
