Palm Sunday, n. The Sunday before Easter, observed by Christians in commemoration of Jesus's entry into Jerusalem, when palm fronds were strewn before him.

1And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany,
at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
2And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you:
and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied,
whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
3And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this?
say ye that the Lord hath need of him;
and straightway he will send him hither.
4And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door
without in a place where two ways met, and they loose him.
5And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
6And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
7And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
8And many spread their garments in the way:
and others cut down branches off the trees, and strowed them in the way.
9And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying,
Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:.
10Blessed be the kingdom of our father David,
that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
11And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple:
and when he had looked round about upon all things,
and now the eventide was come,
he went out unto Bethany with the twelve. Mark 11:1-11
Today is Palm Sunday and marks the beginning of a very significant week in the life of Jesus which culminated in his death, burial and ressurection. Those events had to take place so that our sin debts would be paid for and we could have eternal life if we acknowledge and repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as our personal Saviour.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Easter is a very significant holiday more so than Christmas, in my opinion. While the birth of Jesus is special, it was the sacrifice He made by dying on the cross to pay for my sins and for yours as well. For without that sacrifice I would be doomed and be lost for eternity.
I hope during this week that you will ponder the importance of Easter and how it can change your life!
Today is also April Fool's Day! While not a national holiday it is a day, in many countries, where people play all kinds of good-humoured and funny jokes on other people. Have you been made the 'fool' yet today?
Today is also the day my sweet, wonderfully awesome Country Boy was born into this world!
Happy Birthday Baby!
I love you so very much!
Till next time,

Firstly, Happy Birthday (belated) to your dh. Such a blessing the union of marriage, isn't it? I am in agreement with you, Easter is a special time in Jesus life, His sacrifice. I love this post, I have been so very busy lately that I have had little time to sit and compose a post. Thanks for posting this and sharing these thoughts.
