Cottonwood Cove

Down the road a ways from us is Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina on Lake Mohave.

CountryBoy took me there when I was visiting last month.

It's fourteen miles from a neighboring town down a two lane road that offers beautiful scenery along the way.

Here you can see Lake Mohave in the distance...

We stopped and walked around checking out the various plant life.

This is a Teddy Bear Cholla Cactus.  You can read about it HERE.

A close up of the Teddy Bear Cholla Cactus...

I wouldn't want to cuddle up with that Teddy Bear!

This is a Barrel Cactus...

After checking out the desertscape, we hopped back in the truck and continued on to Cottonwood Cove.

The resort...

The marina...

A friendly greeter looking for a handout...

More critters looking for handouts!...

The sun was pretty intense that day so the colors are not as vibrant in the photos as in real life.

The water was crystal clear.  The fish almost look like they're on top of the water with the ducks.

We didn't have any handouts so we continued on to the marina.

These are private boats but you can rent various size houseboats if you'd like.

It's a beautiful place and simply perfect whenever there is water and mountains in the same vicinity.

Till next time,

Gorgeous photos! I love how the fish do appear to be above the water!

Really odd to see "resort" and "desert" in the same place. When I think resort, I think tropical and lush. Just goes to show that there is alot to be learned outside of the Southeastern US! LOL

I am really amazed at the clarity of the water. You got some great shots here! That teddy bear cactus doesn't look snuggly at all. lol
