Welcoming a new year is always exciting! No matter what the previous year dealt us, we are always excited and hopeful about the upcoming year and what it may bring.
CountryBoy and I rang in the new year sound asleep!
We went to one of our favorite restaurants, Joe's Crab Shack, for dinner then came home, watched part of a movie and went to bed. That's a pretty typical new year's eve for us.
Today, we are lounging around the 5th wheel and just enjoying a relaxing day and being together. CountryBoy is fixing one of the window shades for me while I write this post. Once I'm off the computer, he will play some video games online; something he enjoys doing! I will, once again, try to figure out how to crochet a ruffled scarf using a new-to-me yarn. (I've only started it and ripped it out five times now, sigh. Even the online video wasn't very helpful.)
This time last year, we were home sitting around a camp fire drinking coffee and discussing our goals for 2012. Most of them involved plans as to how we wanted to develop and grow our little homestead and to become more self-sufficient. Another goal was to become debt-free by the end of the year.
Part of those goals came to fruition but for the most part, our year turned out to be nothing like we had planned or anticipated. Do they ever?
This year, our goals are completely different.
In fact, I have only one goal this year, and that is to get CountryBoy healthy. I am researching healthy eating and foods that will help heal his body.
I am a firm believer that we are what we eat and that our bodies can and will heal themselves when given the right fuel (food). (I will post more on how we are eating at a later date.)
I am also a firm believer in the power of prayer and know that through both eating wholesome, healthy foods combined with lots of prayers we are confidant that CountryBoy's health will greatly improve.
I also want to thank each of you that are praying for us. To think that some of you are complete strangers and yet you care and are praying... it means SO much to us!
This year, we MUST meet our goal for both our sakes and are looking forward to getting and being healthy.
Thank you for following along on our journey this past year and I hope that you will continue as we take on 2013.
Wishing y'all a happy and healthy new year!
Till next time,

the two of you focused on one mission can be unstoppable! :)
What's that saying, "Man plans, God laughs?" Sometimes we can be so focused on specific goals that we miss the simple things in life that God wants for us. I think you two are on the right track and I'm certain God will bless that! Love your shots of the finches. Hope you have a very blessed year!! Oh, and good luck with the knit project!
