Curiosity Killed the Cat

I can see how that phrase came into being.

Cats are definitely curious creatures.

Cautious but curious.

In the 5th wheel there was an old stereo system installed in a cabinet beneath the TV area.  It didn't work so CountryBoy took it out so that we could use it as a shelf.

There are tons of wires located in that area so we will have to do some work to it to make it usable and to hide all the wires.

Meanwhile, Precious sees this new 'hole' and just has to check it out...

Precious is sniffing the walls.

As you can see, it's a mess right now.  Wires everywhere and a flimsy shelf.  We're going to reinforce the shelf and add a fake wall in the back to hide the wires.  Some day.  We're still pondering the best way to do it.

Precious didn't stay in there very long.  I guess it just wasn't as comfortable in there as the recliner!

Thankfully, her curiosity didn't kill her!

And for a quick quilt update...

(I forgot to turn the red fabric over for the photo, oops!)

I managed to get all the pieces cut out yesterday.  I had to take a break halfway through to give my hand a rest but after lunch I jumped back on it and got 'r' done!

The motivation one gets when living in a 5th wheel is surprising.  If I had been at home, I would have stopped for the day when my hand got tired.  But, when something always has to be moved in order to do or get something else you find the motivation from somewhere to continue on until whatever you're doing is done.

Example:  To get to my sewing box, which is underneath the sewing table, I have to move the sewing chair just so (because there's only so much room between it and the recliner), carefully pull the sewing box out and set it on the couch.  Then I grab the cutting mat and yard stick stored behind the sewing table (that one is easy) and put them on the dining table (after I've moved my computer, mouse pad and mouse off the table and onto one of the dining table benches).

Now, I can get my fabric, scissors, rotary cutter, tape measure, etc. out and put them on the mat that's on the table.  Problem is, there's too much stuff on the mat (which takes up the entire table top) to do any cutting.  So I continually shuffle whatever item is in the way out of the way so that I can measure and cut.

The cut pieces are then placed on the six inch top of the dining bench until I'm finished with all the pieces.

After cutting three of the seven fabrics my hand got tired.

I stopped for lunch and decided that I did not want to have to go through all of the above another day so I got back on it; finished it up and even put it all away in plenty of time to cook and set the now empty dining table.  And, everything was back in order by the time CountryBoy got home from work.  (It's important to me to have an orderly house and to have supper cooking when he walks in the door because I know he just wants to have a relaxing evening after a long day at work and coming home to a disorderly place is not relaxing to us.)  If there's one thing I've learned since living full-time in a 5th wheel is that it is imperative that stuff gets put back in its place immediately.  Otherwise, there will be no room to sit or to eat and the place will quickly become a pig sty.  Just sayin'!

I digress...

Till next time,

If there's a cubbyhole, a cat will find it. Great progress on your quilt!

Precious is...well, precious! My Luna likes to plunder around in places like that as well.

How about one of those nice wicker baskets for the hole for the time being?
