Farewell Winter, Hello Whaaa?

Winter?  Whaaaa?

It's 11:00 in the morning on the eighth day of the month of April.

It's 58 degrees.

The wind is howling and it looks like a cold, gray day in January.

Whaaaa????

A few days ago, I had the notion to pack away our coats that hang by the door.

Whew!  Thanks to sheer laziness, I'm glad they're still hangin' there.  I need them today.

CountryBoy called a bit ago and said it was cold, windy and snowing at the job. Whaaaaa?

And here I was going to have a big 'ol salad with some shrimp on it for dinner tonight.

Because it's April.

And it was gorgeous yesterday.

And because we like salads in April on gorgeous days.

Sigh.

But, alas, I'm cooking up some pinto beans this morning to put in our chili tonight because now, it's a chili-eatin' kinda day!

In April.  Did I already mention that?

And, by the way, I snapped these photos during yesterday's gorgeous April day.

In reality, I'm trying to enjoy a day even like today because, before I know it, the triple digits will be here.  And, I'm not sure I'm ready for that so bring it on (as long as I can stay inside and out of the wind, ha!).

Till next time,

Pretty pics! All kinds of odd weather 50/60 over the weekend and projected into the mid 80's on Wednesday here... Roll with it:@)

Winter has been lurking around still in south Louisiana, too. Weird! And yes, we will be complaining about heat and humidity soon enough. Love love love that flowering cactus!

I hear you, silly me packed away our winter clothes a week ago. I told Mountain Man next year I'm waiting until May.

While most of you in the temperate climes are tired of long winters and very excited to have spring soon, we here in the hot tropics are also tired, literally, of the hot weather. Couple it with high humidity and it is like killing fields, so we don't stay outdoors much. In the beach they try to be all protected and go to shaded areas at noon. YOur shots are lovely, am sure moreso in spring.
