The veggie gardens are coming along nicely. Since we had an earlier bout of warm weather, some of the plants have bloomed already and we can see the beginnings of what will hopefully be an abundance of veggies to eat, can or make into jelly! We have already picked and eaten several bunches of green onions. Mmm! Here are some tomatoes...
A cucumber...
Blackberries...
And some grapes...
Country Boy cleared a path today from behind the barn to the lower portion of our property where our wild blackberry patch is. This is our next project...
The blackberry bushes are COVERED with vines. It's amazing how quickly they take over! There are a lot of blooms and blackberries on the bushes but it will be difficult to get to them in this current state. We also checked out a possible site for the beehive down there! Can't wait to get my bees but I still need to do a little more research on getting started.
Speaking of this portion of the property, I think our mosquitoes came from Texas this year. They are B-I-G! And I hear everything in Texas is big! I took the above shot and got out of there!
Update on Country Boy... he is doing much better thanks to the Almond Oil/Tea Tree Oil remedy I mixed up and a trip to the doctor yesterday who prescribed some medication. He was quite skeptical at first about using the oils but the itching stopped a few minutes after applying it! And thanks to the medication, the swelling is going down. He's a much happier man, therefore, I am a much happier woman!

On my way to photograph the vine-covered blackberry bushes, I stopped in Cat Town to say Hi and check on everyone. This is what I saw...
This is Spookie. Isn't she pretty? I've been brushing her everyday trying to get rid of her winter coat. She didn't care for the brushing much at first, but she's getting better and tonight I think she actually started enjoying it!
This is Midnite. I think he went to bed early! He woke up though and wanted to play while I was brushing Spookie.
While I was taking Midnite's photo, I heard Rikki calling me from the Mess Hall...
She jumped down while I was brushing Spookie and waited for her turn. She LOVES to be brushed!

There is no update on Country Boy's job situation. We're still praying and waiting for some direction.
Till next time,

love that shot of the blackberries - the close-up, not the Texas mosquito-covered patch. :)
Glad your hubby is feeling better - or at least itching less!
