Standing Out

I'm not one that desires to stand out in a crowd or even a small group.

I like to blend in.

Get familiar with my surroundings and the people around me.

I'm a very shy person when I meet new people.

Because of this, I've been accused of being stuck up or snooty.

It's just not true when you're shy.

Shy is shy, not stuck up.

Now, once I get to know a person,
that's a whole different story!

I'm sure my friends today are wondering about the shy bit
but I think if they'll look back on when we first met,
they'll remember that I never said very much.

I don't know why that is but it is.

Country Boy, on the other hand, never meets a stranger.

I call him my social butterfly!

He enjoys standing out.

It's the perfect balance.

What about you?

Do you like to blend in or stand out?

Till next time,

Blending in works for me too. I am an author so sometimes need to publicize my books, and sometimes it is good for me to get out of a comfort zone.

I'm somewhere between and introvert and an extrovert. Just depends on my comfort level with the group I am with.

Oh, I can definitely say I am the shy one trying to blend in. I so want to be the social butterfly, but it is just not in my genetic make up, apparently. :) Like you, once I get to know someone I'll let loose if I feel comfortable. But not a moment before!

Love that orange flower!

It's been so long since I've visited here (or anywhere). I had no idea that so much has been going on with you all. I'm so sorry about your mom ... overjoyed that LizzieBelle found you and that she delivered such healthy puppies while in your care. You already KNOW how much I want chickens, but I can't convince the husband to go along with the idea.

In answer to your question ... I tend to stand out in a crowd. I'm not shy, and I love to meet new people, and I can generally get comfortable fairly quickly in a roomful of strangers. The only place where I have been recently where I couldn't do this is at one of my husband's art receptions. For some reason, I can't sit and make idle conversation with most of his artist friends. I go to these things to support him, knowing now that I'm going to be bored out of my brain. In retaliation, I ask him to come along with me to my rose events. :)

Like you, I tend to be shy at first. I definitely try to blend in and be as unnoticed as I can be.
