A Day at a Craft Fair

Last Saturday, Country Boy was manning a First Aid tent at the 27th Annual Mt. Dora Craft Fair.  I tagged along to keep him company and to get some photos... of course!  There were over 350 crafters and artists displaying and selling their finest works to over 200,000 people that attended during a two day period.  It was very crowded so it was difficult to get photos of some of the crafts but these were among my favorites...

Made of wrought iron.

A beautiful, hand-painted gourd with a lid.

Mt. Dora is a quaint town with some great shopping, restaurants and unique buildings...

Such a cool window!

Garden Gate Tea Room

This balcony reminds me of something you might see in New Orleans.

Masonic Lodge

This used to be a bookstore.  I loved coming into town and seeing this storefront.  The mason who created this was very talented.  The bookstore moved to another location and then closed down.  Here's a closer look at his work...

And if you need some R&R after a long day of browsing and shopping...

You may remember a similar photo from another visit to Mt. Dora.

I bought one Christmas present and the rest of my money was spent on food for breakfast and lunch for two... which added up disappeared quick!

It was an all day affair for us, leaving the house at 6:30 a.m. and getting home at 6:30 p.m. We were exhausted to say the least.  We had some dinner and went to bed shortly after.  Such exciting lives we lead!

Till next time,

Jealous! (not of the 12 hours, however). I thought about going, all of about 6 minutes, then decided not fighting the crowd sounded much more appealing to me. :) Glad you had fun - it was a gorgeous weekend for it.

That looks like a lot of fun. I do enjoy doing just this type of thing. It is a rare happening for me these days though. Love, as always, your images!

I always knew in my heart I was a country gal and thats were I belonged and longed for the country and now thats were we are . Our future also has a hobbie farm in it of minatures , veggie gardens , chickens and so on. I to am retired that happend at the age of 43 worked since I was 18 in retail and factories and now am a happy home maker in the country where Papa and I belong. Have a wonderful day !
