Always Something Update

I am happy to report that, thankfully, Camping World had the fitting we needed for the shower, woohoo!  They also had some latches in stock that we also needed such as a latch for the interior fuse/vent cover, a latch for the exterior hot water cover and a storage compartment latch (got that one in metal so that it wouldn't dry rot and break).

I also picked up a water saver shower head that was on sale and two under-the-shelf storage baskets.  I was only able to use the one basket in my 'laundry room' because there is a lip on all my other shelves.  I have an idea where I might use the other one but if that doesn't work then I will return it.

As of last night, CountryBoy was able to get the shower back together and the water back on, yay!  He also got the interior latch put in on the fuse/vent cover.  He'll put the exterior latches on another day (probably first thing Saturday morning while it's still somewhat cool outside).

It was nice having running water again.  After dinner and washing dishes I made some hummingbird nectar, got a new batch of 'Ginger Tea' going in the crock pot, made us a coupla mugs of hot tea and filled the animals' water bowl all with the flip of the faucet handle.  Smile!

It's the little things in life!

Always Something

Good morning folks!

A shot of this morning's sunrise on this last day of July.  Hard to believe another month has come and gone.  Where does the time go?!

On another note... no matter if you own a home, car, boat or RV there will always be something that needs to be done to one of them.

Last night we discovered that the shower in the 5th wheel was leaking.

CountryBoy located the problem and handed me the part that needs to be replaced and said 'we need one of these'.

So today I will be heading to Camping World just outside of Vegas in search of this part for the shower.  Let's hope they have it...

Meanwhile, we've been without running water since last night.  sigh.

I have pots, pans, bowls and watering cans full of water that I've filled from the outside faucet sitting all around to be used for flushing, washing, rinsing, bathing and cleaning.

Hopefully, CountryBoy can get it all put back together tonight after he gets home from work.

So, be thankful for that convenient running water you have and never take it for granted!

Now I'm off to get ready to go since it will take me a bit longer than usual...

Bits 'O This & That

Good morning friends!

In a bit I will be taking CountryBoy's truck to the shop for Phase 3 of fixing all the issues.  (I will do a past on all that we had done to it.)  This is going to be a major, time-consuming task (and probably quite expensive but still cheaper than a new truck!).

To kill the time, my sister-in-law is graciously coming to pick me up and we are going to head over to Kingman, AZ.  We will probably find a Hobby Lobby there, check out other shopping opportunities that we don't have in Bullhead and we will definitely stop at Cracker Barrel for some good 'ole country cookin' (and a bit of shopping at the country store!).

Yesterday, I tried to update the blog a bit... change the layout, add some things, remove some things and change the font.  For some reason, the fonts would not change.  They would change in the design area but not on the blog itself.  Frustrating.  I'm not totally pleased with the look yet so I will try again another day.  Maybe Blogger was having a bad day!

In other news, my tomato plant that I started from seed in an empty kitty litter bucket (using what was on hand) has some blooms on it, yay!

Two more blooms have appeared since this photo was taken.  I'm excited and hoping we'll get some nice tomatoes from this plant.

It's a far cry from the garden I planted last year while at home but hey, at least this is something and I've enjoyed nurturing and watching it grow.

Yesterday

... all our troubles seem so far away.  Or something like that!

I was at the computer (that resides on the dining table during the day) yesterday morning when I noticed an orange glow coming through the frosted window of our 'front' door (which is our only door but that's beside the point!).

I opened the door, peeked out and saw what promised to be a glorious sunrise.

So, I grabbed my camera, my tripod, threw on a jacket and slipped into my flip-flops that reside by the door.

I stood outside for quite a while taking various shots of the sunrise got chilled so I went back in to grab my cup of coffee while waiting for the sun to peek over the mountains.

I'd say it was worth the wait and worth my fingers and toes getting so cold I thought they'd break off!

It's mornings like this that remind me that the sun will rise every day no matter what is going on in our lives, that life is good and that God is still in control.  And, for that, I am forever grateful!

CountryBoy is working twelve hour days for ten days.  The long days began yesterday so I changed up my routine and decided to sit outside for a bit in the morning and do some reading since I now have fourteen hours (we live a ways from the job) during the day to fill before he gets home from work!

I'm currently reading one of my beloved Amish fiction books.  It's a thick book, four books in one, entitled 'Brides of Lancaster County' by Wanda E. Brunstetter.  Good book(s)!

Quite peaceful.  I love moments like this.

In the afternoon, I worked on the baby blanket some more only to rip out two rows just before CountryBoy got home because I missed a stitch.  Sigh.  I tried to overlook it but I couldn't.  It kept glaring at me.  So to stop it from glaring at me I ripped everything out until I got to that stitch.  Stupid missed stitch.  Sometimes my perfectionism causes me such grief.  But, at least it's not glaring at me now, ha!

The Mundane

It took its time warming up today so even though it is 'supposed' to be Spring, I am sitting here, late morning, drinking Pumpkin coffee.  Yep, Pumpkin in the Spring.

The beginning of this morning's sunrise was spectacular!

A new day, a new beginning.

I've rearranged the living area of the 5th wheel.  Again.

I can now do some sewing even if CountryBoy is home.

I also relocated the broadband and router equipment.  Again.  Although, I am extremely frustrated with electronics at the moment.

I do know that I will never buy another PC again.  It will be a Mac or I will do without.  Just sayin'.

Eventually, I will have everything in a place that will be comfortable yet efficient.

When living in a small space, everything must have a purpose or function.  There is a lot of moving 'this' to get to 'that'.

Little by little I'm finding ways of arranging things and utilizing what storage space we have in an efficient yet comfy manner.

On another note, have you ever looked into a cat's eye?

Salt Springs II

More pics of Salt Springs as promised!

There are some otters that visit the Spring in the mornings before all the people start coming in to do some swimming.  Country Boy and I got up early one morning and rode our bicycles down the the Spring to see if we could spot them.  On our way we came across several deer grazing for their early morning breakfast!

It was still a little dark out and I'm not good at low-level light shots but I did manage to capture this one, somewhat!  (Note to self, get one of your camera books out and read up on shooting in  low light.)  

When we arrived at the Spring, the otters were not in sight but we were up early enough to witness these beautiful sights!

After experiencing such a beautiful sunrise, we casually headed back to the campsites to have some coffee with our friends and their dog, Ginger.  She's a Shephard/Lab mix and is a really good camping dog!  She loves it!  Isn't she such a lady with her paws crossed?!

Country Boy got up early again the next day to do some fishing in the canal.  He caught several nice sized fish but didn't have a stringer or anything to put them in.  Too bad!  But, he enjoyed his fishing time and was thrilled to have caught some!

There were lots of these guys & gals around!  It was so dry at the campground that I put a bowl under the camper to catch the run-off from the AC so that the squirrels and birds could get a drink.  I wished I had purchased the small bird bath I had seen at WalMart last month.  It was the perfect size to take camping!  I hope they still have them!

These pretty pink flowers were along the bank of the lake.

I have no idea what kind of flowers these are.  Anyone have any ideas?

I will have one more post about Salt Springs, I hope you're not bored with it already!
